Friends Of Sea Turtles Education & Research

(Persatuan Pencinta and Pemuliharaan Hidupan Penyu Negeri Sabah)

On 14 October 2014, an association named Friends Of Sea Turtles Education & Research (FOSTER) or Persatuan Pencinta and Pemuliharaan Hidupan Penyu Negeri Sabah was approved by the Registrar of Societies Malaysia.

FOSTER is dedicated to provide a platform and technical supports for the Walai Penyu Conservation Park project on Libaran. Its main objectives were to fulfil the obligations specified in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Sabah Wildlife Department in 2013:

To initiate public awareness programs on the importance of sea turtle conservation, making sure it does not go extinct and to protect environment;

To work together with other government agencies and NGOs in preserving natural heritage particularly endangered species threatening by the destruction of environment;

To plan and coordinate any environmental awareness programs for the public and to inculcate love for sea turtles so that it would be conserved for future generations.
